This year, we are proud to celebrate Scott Greenlee's 25 years of service. Scott joined Poplar Grove State Bank in 2001 and became part of the Solutions Bank team through the 2020 merger. Over the past 25 years, he has built lasting relationships with customers, coworkers, and community members that continue to define his impact today.
Scott's banking career began in 1998 as a Universal Banker before moving into a credit analyst role and eventually joining Poplar Grove State Bank. He earned degrees from the University of Illinois and Aurora University and graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Rooted in Community Banking
What drew Scott to Poplar Grove State Bank was the opportunity to work for a community bank serving the rural communities of northern Boone County. He valued the chance to become both a commercial and agricultural lender while building meaningful relationships with local families, businesses, and farmers.
For Scott, community banking has always been about knowing the people behind the accounts.
"Community banks are an important piece to the entire financial picture because they serve the people that want or need more personalized service. Community banks can serve those that want to be known to their bank."
More Than Lending
As Executive Vice President of Lending, Scott's role extends well beyond loans. He works closely with commercial and agricultural customers, listening to their needs, helping them navigate financial decisions, and connecting them with the right solutions and resources.
One of the things Scott enjoys most about his work is the ability to help customers solve challenges while drawing on the support of his coworkers when needed.
"The best part of working at Solutions Bank is having the ability to solve customer issues using my own skills and judgment while having a support network of co-workers when I need additional help."
Whether working with a new business owner, a long-time farm customer, or a growing family, Scott is known for taking the time to listen, understand their goals, and provide thoughtful guidance. Those relationships have become one of the most rewarding parts of his career.
Relationships That Last
One of the things Scott believes people may not fully realize is how deeply community bankers get to know their customers and their families over time. Years of conversations, milestones, challenges, and successes often create relationships that go far beyond banking.
Those relationships became especially important when Poplar Grove State Bank became part of Solutions Bank in 2020. After nearly two decades of serving the Poplar Grove community, Scott helped provide continuity for customers during the transition. The trust he had built over the years helped ensure that many long-standing relationships continued seamlessly and continued to prosper as part of the Solutions Bank family.
For many customers, Scott is more than their lender. He is someone who understands their business, knows their history, and genuinely cares about their success. That trust has been earned through years of consistency, integrity, and personal connection.
A Valued Coworker
Scott's relationships extend beyond customers. Coworkers describe him as dependable, genuine, and always willing to help others. He freely shares his knowledge and experiences, helping others learn and grow while creating an environment where people feel supported and valued.
His colleagues appreciate not only his experience, but also the way he treats people. Through his integrity, respect, and team-first attitude, Scott has made a positive impact on those around him and helped strengthen the culture of the organization.
Celebrating 25 Years
As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we recognize that Scott's legacy is not measured solely by years of service, but by the relationships he has built along the way. Through his time with Poplar Grove State Bank and now Solutions Bank, he has earned the trust of customers, supported his coworkers, and strengthened the communities we serve.
Congratulations, Scott, on 25 years of service. Thank you for the relationships you've built, the people you've helped, and the lasting impact you've made throughout your career.
