Mary Hill
From Classroom to Community Banking
We’re proud to celebrate Mary Hill’s 5-year anniversary with Solutions Bank. This milestone reflects not only her dedication, but the meaningful impact she’s made on her team, customers and the Forreston community.
Mary joined Solutions Bank after spending over a decade working in early childhood education, where she taught preschool for ten years and served as a paraprofessional for another four. Ready for a career change closer to home, she was encouraged by members of the Solutions Bank team to take a leap. That leap has proven to be a great one for both Mary and Solutions Bank.
Today, Mary plays a vital role at our Forreston office where she supports daily operations, assists customers with their banking needs and helps ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. She describes her role simply as handling customer transactions and supporting her team, but those who work alongside her know her contributions go far beyond that.
Leading by Example
Mary is known for her calm, steady presence and her unwavering dedication to both her coworkers and customers. She consistently sets a strong example, bringing a thoughtful and dependable approach to everything she does. Her attention to detail and proactive mindset allow her to stay organized and accountable, delivering reliable outcomes day in and day out.
One of Mary’s greatest strengths is her deep understanding of her customers. She has truly elevated the “know your customer” approach, becoming a trusted resource for customer insight. This knowledge enables her team to make informed, personalized decisions that strengthen relationships and demonstrate the high quality of customer service Solutions Bank prides itself on.
Her impact is equally evident in the way she supports those around her. Mary provides guidance and hands-on assistance to her coworkers, especially during challenging situations. Through a consistently positive presence, she helps foster an environment where individuals and the team as a whole can succeed and provide outstanding service to their customers.

Mary’s growth over the past five years has been remarkable. She has navigated periods of staff transition with resilience and professionalism, stepping up to take on additional responsibilities when needed. She consistently embraces challenges, taking on new tasks with determination and a focus on doing what’s right for both her customers and the bank. Most recently, she reached an exciting milestone by stepping into her role as Retail Banking Branch Lead—an achievement that reflects both her ability to set the standard of customer care Solutions Bank strives for and her commitment to continued growth.
Her dedication to customers is equally inspiring. Mary has played a key role in protecting clients from fraud, helping save tens of thousands of dollars through her vigilance and willingness to have difficult conversations when it matters most. Her integrity and commitment to safeguarding customers’ financial well-being exemplify the values at the heart of Solutions Bank.
Just as important as what she does is how she does it. Mary has earned the trust of both her customers and her coworkers, building strong relationships rooted in consistency, care and authenticity. She brings heart to banking which is something that truly sets community banking apart. Her genuine commitment and care for people is felt in every interaction.

When asked what she enjoys most about her work, Mary points to the small-town community feel and the relationships she’s built with customers. Those relationships align perfectly with her belief in the importance of community banking. She values the role local banks play in supporting small businesses, farms and community events, and she brings that same sense of connection into her work every day.
For those new to banking, Mary offers simple but meaningful advice: learning takes time and patience. What may feel overwhelming at first will eventually become second nature. She models this mindset through her own continuous growth and commitment to communication, which she sees as essential to building trust and preventing errors within a team.
