Marketing & Innovation | Celebrating 10 Years Of Impact at Solutions Bank

This month, we are proud to celebrate a decade of creativity, collaboration, and unwavering commitment from Amanda Pierce, who joined Solutions Bank as our first in‑house marketing employee. What began as a job posting she stumbled upon by accident has become a 10-year journey that helped shape the very identity of our brand.

Finding the Perfect Fit (By Accident)

Amanda wasn’t searching for a new job when she discovered the marketing position at Solutions Bank. While helping a friend look for roles online, she came across the posting—and instantly felt connected to it. The role aligned perfectly with her creative strengths and passion for problem‑solving, so she updated her résumé and took a leap.

A Creative Journey with Real-World Depth

Amanda’s path to marketing has been anything but traditional. Starting as an art education major during the 2008–2009 economic downturn, she transitioned into graphic design, earning degrees from Highland Community College and UW–Platteville. Along the way, she worked as a bartender, server and even a dental assistant—experiences that shaped her adaptability and her understanding of people.

After graduation, she launched her own graphic design business, offering everything from signage and decals to apparel. Today, she and her husband also own and operate the brewery and barbecue restaurant Mud Run in Stockton, giving her a dual perspective as both a business owner and a bank employee - a combination that deeply enriches her work and leadership.

Building a Brand From the Ground Up

As Solutions Bank’s first in‑house marketing team member, Amanda truly transformed what marketing means for our organization. What once was outsourced is now a central, strategic part of who we are.

Her manager, Jolene Bohnsack, describes her as “the creative force and strategic mind behind our brand.”  Amanda is someone who brings originality, intention and a deep commitment to brand excellence. Every touchpoint she works on is an opportunity to strengthen relationships and tell our story with clarity and purpose. Her influence reaches far beyond the marketing department. She is a steady source of energy, direction and collaboration, helping teams stay aligned and focused on meaningful impact.

The Work You Don’t Always See

Amanda describes herself as a “big-picture person” who always tries to connect the dots between departments, timelines, tasks and people. Her work often happens behind the scenes: organizing thought processes, fostering clarity and helping teams move forward with coordinated, intentional steps. Her manager echoes this, noting how she brings intentionality to every campaign, aligning the brand and guiding teams toward measurable outcomes that strengthen Solutions Bank for the future.

Living Our Values Every Day

Amanda embodies Solutions Bank’s values through humility, curiosity and a commitment to continuous growth. She approaches every challenge with an open mind, often asking thoughtful questions that elevate team conversations and problem‑solving. Her natural curiosity fuels her ability to stay ahead, bring fresh insights and help Solutions Bank adapt to an evolving industry.

She partners closely with teams across the bank to improve customer experiences, support innovation and help shape new initiatives—all driven by collaboration and shared purpose.

Why Community Banking Matters to Her

Amanda believes community banks make a difference because decisions happen locally. As a business owner herself, she knows how critical it is to receive timely answers and work with people who truly understand the community. “We don’t just process transactions,” she says. “We invest in people, local growth, and education.”

Advice for Someone New to Banking

Her message is simple: Do it.

Amanda is constantly impressed by the opportunities community banking provides. From entry-level roles to senior leadership, and from traditional banking positions to roles in marketing, technology, operations and more.

A Lasting Impact

Amanda’s contributions have shaped Solutions Bank’s brand and has fostered a more innovative, connected organization. Her manager sums it up best:

“Amanda’s creative, innovative thinking helps our team stay adaptable, relevant and ahead of industry shifts. Without her, our brand and our internal collaboration would look very different.”
